Immediate steps

Financial Standard procedure is 100% payment at start of project. Other arrangements can be made on an individual basis. Under all circumstances, final payment is made before finished work is delivered to Client. Preferred method of payment is by PayPal invoicing. Overnight check is also acceptable. Work begins as soon as I receive payment and materials. Check by regular mail is not recommended, as delivery time is uncertain and deadline will therefore be in limbo. (Note: if for any reason Client cancels the project before completion, a kill fee of 50% of total project fees will be applied. No further payment will be due, and the kill fee will be fully applicable toward a future project.)

Project fees

Two alternate headlines will be supplied for testing purposes.

If additional components are added to the project during the established time frame, all additional components will be billed at a 20% discount. This discount will apply only if my schedule permits additions to the project; commitment to additional components at start of project will guarantee my availability and will also be billed at a 20% discount.

Deadline ______________________ (Note: I generally set a very comfortable deadline that includes extra time for any unexpected events such as a power outage. The work may very well be finished before the deadline, but it is virtually guaranteed not to be late. Also note that the deadline is contingent upon Client’s delivering the above-mentioned materials as well as promptly responding to any questions I may have.)

The terms and conditions stated in this Project Proposal are guaranteed through _____________________________ (i.e., if the start of the project is delayed beyond this date, a new fee may need to be negotiated).

Up to two reasonable revisions of materials within 30 days of the deadline will be included at no extra cost to Client. A major change may result in a Change Order, and additional fees will be incurred.

If and when you request revisions, please put "Revision 1" and "Revision 2" in the subject line.

I create all copy in Microsoft Word®. Word documents are versatile and can be incorporated into Power Point presentations or virtually any other project. Most desired types of formatting can be accomplished with Word.

I work with my clients primarily by mail, phone, e-mail, and fax. In-person meetings are rarely, if ever, necessary or the best use of our time. If Client strongly prefers an in-person meeting, my daily minimum of $600 will apply.

Until paid in full, Lisa J. Lehr retains copyright of all work-for-hire. (Thereafter, Client retains copyright.) If the project is not completed, Lisa J. Lehr retains copyright on the completed portion.

You, the Client, hold me, Lisa J. Lehr, harmless against any liability anywhere in the world that results in any way from your use of my copywriting services and counsel.

1. You, the Client, are alone responsible for the legality of the final copy, including, but not limited to, copyright issues, use of testimonials, and any resulting matters of libel.
2. If anyone, anywhere, buys and/or uses Client’s product or service, and subsequently sues Client or anyone else, Client holds me, Lisa J. Lehr, harmless.
3. Should I, Lisa J. Lehr, incur any cost(s) because of regulatory action, including, but not limited to, legal and travel expenses, you, the Client, will reimburse any and all such costs.
4. Furthermore, should I determine, at any point after work has begun, that some aspect of the project is morally objectionable to me, I, Lisa J. Lehr, reserve the right to resign from the account. I will refund Client’s fees in full and will be under no further obligation.

In order to promote my business, it is essential that I receive samples of my work. You understand that I may use samples of this project in the promotion of my business, and that I may ask for samples of the finished product as well as response rates and any other measurement data. Names and other identifying details can be changed to protect your privacy.

Our mutual agreement to the terms in this proposal includes your permission for me to use any part of it that I wish for my portfolio. If you do not wish me to do so, please let me know before completion of the project.

Testimonials and referrals are greatly appreciated.

I prefer to work on a mutual trust basis, with e-mail and other correspondence standing as permanent record of what Client and I have each agreed to do. Commencement of the project as agreed by both parties will constitute implicit agreement to the above terms.
